The Tree Challenge!

An Eco-Friendly Fundraising Program

About Us

Global Tree Registry got started in honor of our wonderful 7 year old daughter named Brookelle.  We were on a drive to the mountains (which we do quite often) and that particular day happened to be Earth Day.  We started talking about global warming and what the Earth would look like when Brookelle got older.  As we were hiking and looking up at the beauty of the trees, we got on the subject of how trees have been known to offset global warming.  We got an epiphany that day that if everyone registered a tree as a gift and we were able to track it's coordinates, then we could turn around and donate new trees to get planted in national forests!  This idea turned into a way for us as parents (and as human beings) to somehow make a change and give back to Mother Earth.

Global warming is a global issue, and we can either sit back and watch what happens, or get in there and try to make a difference.  We chose to do it by planting trees.  Oh, and honoring our daughter who we love so very much...because this really got started with her future in mind.

Regardless of your views on global warming, we can all agree that planting trees is good for the environment. Also, getting outside and hiking to see your named registered tree, is not only fun and relaxing, it is also good for your body and spirit. (We know that planting trees in not the total answer to our global warming problems, but if it means that it will help a little, then to us, that's all that matters.

The founders of the Tree Challenge have been involved in several environmentally friendly businesses, and they knew that there was a better way to do fundraisers. They wanted an alternative to the candy, gift wrap, and coupon book fundraisers.

They came up with a fundraiser that is educational to the student and the purchaser, as well as being good for our environment.  Also, it allows the family to get outdoors and do something fun by visiting the wilderness!
